The 2001 Legislature increased monthly annuities for retirees by: $2:00 multiplied by years of service credit, plus $1.00 multiplied by years of retirement. Additionally, retirees received a percentage increase of .75% (annuity multiplied by .0075) beginning July of 2001 and again in July of 2002. The multiplier was also increased from 1.88 to 2.00. The Legislature did not increase retiree benefits in 2003 or in 2005 due to lack of fund performance.
